Origins


Scented gloves were the first foray into an affection for the scent of leather. The processing and tanning of leather left it putrid so tanners began to scent their wares and soon fashionable people in Europe were holding a perfumed glove to their noses when things became malodorous.


Leather Heaven


The smell of leather from stuffed chairs mingled with cigar smoke and brandy. Equestrians enjoyed the way the saddle and tac mixed with the horse, hay and meadow. Libraries filled with leather bound books collide with the distinct scent of decaying paper.
